ABOUT
Ever since I was a little girl, I've felt driven by something greater than myself. I'd study the way that tiny dust particles would float in the air against the backlit sun, continue asking "why" until there were no more answers left, and hold fully operational funerals for my pet earthworms after they "miraculously" didn't survive on a few blades of grass in my mom's tupperware; this, unbeknownst to a six year old at the time, instilled within me a deep sense of the interdependence and synchronicity that exists between myself and the greater world around me.
At my core, I'm simply curious. I'm especially curious about the human condition and how we exist in harmony with the organic and inorganic world across time and culture. Who are we, why are we here, and how do these answers show up in science, art, and society? I'm driven to explore our intrinsic place within the natural world, and aim to utilize visual art to motivate a shift away from an anthropocentric worldview.
I graduated from The Fashion Institute of Technology with a degree in Advertising and Marketing Communications, another degree in Photography and Related Media, and dual minors in Psychology and Integrative Wellness. I have also taken classes with Yale University in Indigenous Ecology and Connected Leadership. Since graduating, I have been volunteering abroad and in my local neighborhood. I value connections with people who are goal oriented and driven by the urge to serve the greater world around us. I'm currently working towards a career doing ethnographic field work in photography, cinematography, art direction, and journalism.
In my free time I enjoy gardening, cooking, art/DIY, writing and reading poetry, and practicing yoga. I also work on building my podcast, "The Art of Being Human", which focuses on the past, present, and future circumstances of humanity and our relationship to the human condition in tandem with nature. I find a sense of purpose in volunteering for various causes, and am deeply passionate about regenerative agriculture, working with individuals with special needs, providing companionship for the elderly, designing and rebuilding community-based infrastructure, supporting climate focused research, aiding both domesticated and endangered wild animals, and engaging in public policy driven by social equity.
I recognize the privilege I've been given to be able to explore and express myself through various mediums, and am trying my best to live through and by gratitude. Thank you for being here.
